Twisted Stitcher

Holy Crap, it's the 19th?!?!?!?!

That means I have 6 days...no, let's be realistic...5 days and 1 hour since I'm writing this at 11 at night....to have everything done for Christmas. Stop laughing, it really isn't funny. No pictures today, can't find the camera.

On the knitting front, there is no Christmas knitting. Score. Well unless you count Megan's present from last year that is knitted but not sewn together. The bootcamp sweater has both sleeves and 2" of back done. There are several things I'm dying to cast on but so far I'm controlling myself on those.

I also have some fabulous roving calling from the craft room. I'm thinking keeping the door shut is helping, but if the wheel adds it's voice, I'm sunk.

I have NO grocery shopping lists created, so no grocery shopping done. That obviously means no cookies baked. This is a big problem.

Presents this year are simple. The most time consuming will be stocking stuffers. We don't have a lot of people outside the immediate family that we buy for anymore. And our family's "big present" this year are airline tickets to San Diego for Mike's Marine bootcamp graduation. We will be visiting places like Sea World and the Zoo and having fun in the sun. It's probably our last family vacation all together, that makes me sad but I plan on enjoying every second of the trip.

How's it going for you?

  • I got my one and only batch of cookies baked yesterday, with not so gentle prodding from the little dude. No frosting----DH couldn't wait, and they are yummy just the same.

  • I'm not making cookies this year. I'll make a cranberry nut bread and maybe a batch of chocolate chip cookies made in bar form for speed. The holidays are coming up way, way too fast!

  • Heh... my son got sick last week on what turned out to be the last day for me to go shopping for family I have to mail to. I didn't even get gift cards for a bunch... I just sent them checks. LAME!

And today, which ought to be the day I run around town finishing up the gift buying for my hubby and kids? Today we have blizzard conditions. If I'm really lucky, the roads and weather will be good enough for the kids to go to their half day of school tomorrow, and I'll be able to do a little then.

I can take them to look for DH's gift. If tomorrow is out, I think I'm going to have to pretend to go to knit group Saturday, and spend the time shopping.

Oh, and the only knitted gift this year will be late (he's only 6 months... he won't know the difference), even though it was 3/4 done before the little one was even born (maybe before he was conceived).

  • I hate to say it, but I am almost done with the holiday knitting. one row and bind off on my stocking and 1 washcloth to go! I don't bake cookies anymore. and just some stocking stuffers to buy for DH. But I am trapped in by the storm too!
